Called a “national class mandolin and fiddle player” by the Portland
Oregonian, Pete Martin plays
fiddle, mandolin, guitar and tenor guitar, and has performed
and recorded with many Northwest artists.
Pete has placed well in many national and regional instrumental competitions. In 1983, he placed in the top 5 at the Walnut Valley Mandolin Contest in Winfield, Kansas. In 1994, he was National Adult Fiddle Champion at Weiser, Idaho. In addition, he has judged the National Fiddle Contest three times. Pete was a regular columnist for Mandolin Magazine and has authored 12 instructional books on mandolin and fiddle playing. Pete teaches mandolin, fiddle and tenor guitar to students of all ages in the greater Seattle area, and around the country via webcam lessons. Interested in learning to play?
